Disability, Chronic Illness and Chronic Pain in the Workplace
I have provided a number of training workshops for organisations on how to manage and support colleagues who live with chronic illnesses and chronic pain in the workplace.
This training enables managers and employers to understand disability and chronic illness better and to develop effective strategies to support employers and colleagues in the workplace. My research has shown that employers often face significant barriers in employment understanding how to address and remove these can enable people to have better experiences at work.
I have delivered this training to a number of organisations including the NHS.
Establishing and Maintaining a Regular Academic Writing Practice
This training is for academics at any stage in their career who have struggled to establish or maintain a regular writing practice. The training introduces participants to a number of strategies they can enact in order to establish and maintain a regular writing practice.
Writing and publishing regularly can be a struggle for academics with busy lives. Writing is also not a mechanistic task but one that is regulated by emotional experiences. This training provides proven strategies to be able to reach writing goals.
This training has been given to academic colleagues at Universities and online.
Inclusive Practice and Accessibility
This training aims to provide participants with the knowledge and practical insights into how to make training and teaching accessible to a wide variety of people.
In all situations in a real or virtual classroom, there will always be a variety of learners with different needs. Understanding how think about inclusive practice is an important step to a better teaching and learning experience. This training explains the basics of access and inclusion and provides helpful tools and strategies to implement online and offline.
